FRIDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2022 - ROAD CONDITIONS UPDATE (5:20 p.m.)

Posted 12/23/22

The roads throughout the District have been thoroughly sanded and will continue to be throughout the day as temperatures drop. Current problem areas that are being addressed include:

Sunrise Place — NO THRU TRAFFIC AT THIS TIME.

Update - Will remain closed through the night.

There was a housefire on Sunrise Place this morning resulting in total loss of the property. The home was supposed to be empty; however, it was discovered that someone was inside. They have been taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Because of the fire, there has been a lot of water on the road. Road has been heavily sanded. The large culvert that crosses Sunrise Place has flooded because of ice blockage. The Road Agent has dug a trench across the road to drain the water away from homes in the area. The trench is clearly marked.

Winter Street

Update - Still issues with run-off but can be handled without closing the road at this time.

There are several culverts on this street blocked with ice, resulting in water draining into the road and forming ice floes. The Road Agent will be addressing those this afternoon. Drive slowly and cautiously.

Beaver Glen

Another culvert blocked by ice. Water is overrunning culvert and flooding a house. Road agent will out there with a pump to divert the water.

Be aware there are very high wind gusts predicted throughout the day as well as falling temperatures. Road conditions continue to change. All roads will be sanded again early tomorrow morning.

DRIVE WITH CAUTION and DRIVE SLOWLY THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT.

PLEASE, DO NOT CONTACT THE ROAD AGENT DIRECTLY. CONTACT A COMMISSIONER IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

If you have any questions, please contact a Board member. info@elvdnh.com.
