Water System Project Update - 7/23/22

Posted 7/23/2022

The Water system project continues to progress on Ellenbrook Road.

- Since the last update, the full length of the road has had the new mainline replaced and most of the curb stops are installed.
- Pressure testing of the line has been completed and passed.
- A Temporary water line has been placed in service for Deerpoint residents. Please report if you see any water leaks on the temporary service.

Next Steps:

- Final roadside / residential properties clean up and road grading of Ellenbrook road is planned to be done by the end of July.
- Deerpoint Drive excavation and laying out the main line will begin next week and over the next 1-2 weeks.
- Deployment of a temporary water line will begin approx. the first week of August on Old Lantern Road.

It is important that residents keep in mind that the project timeline and day to day activities are only estimates. Some blockage of roadway travel will occur during the day time hours and alternate approaches may be necessary. Please try to plan accordingly. The crew estimates they can excavate and lay about 500 feet per day depending on what they find in the ground. Please be patient and work with the construction crew on any issue related to roadway travel, egress to/ from your driveways, any water related issues on the temporary line. They will assist the best they can.

*** WATER SUPPLY EMERGENCY ***

Posted 7/4/22

The district's water supply tank level is currently at 12 feet in the tank. Well levels are low or pumps are shutting off. Some leaks were identified but water consumption is too high right now. We are attempting to get water delivered tomorrow but are still waiting on confirmation as to the ability to support it on Tuesday. We have lost 4 feet in the tank over the weekend so far.

If you see any amount of water loss please report it to the district's email. info@elvdnh.com

Lake Testing Information - UPDATE

Posted 7/1/2022

UPDATE: The samples taken today as previously noted were taken to the lab today and it was discovered that a different testing process/ communication process is used by the State when associated with Cyanobacteria. New sample bottles were obtained for any future concern over lake water quality so that we have them on hand. The NHDES department that manages the Cyanobacteria monitoring program indicated that since there is currently no physical signs of the Bright Green Algae (occurred some time last week) they will not be issuing a State alert for Gould Pond at this time. However, they shared an Infographic sheet that is also being posted on our media sites. This infographic sheet shares what to watch for and when it should be reported.

Please Remember: The Board does not monitor any of the Private Face Book pages for District matters. If you observe any incident that you feel is important enough to be addressed, please reach out to the Board via our district email address: info@elvdnh.com or the office phone number of 603-464-3128, or any of the direct emails/ phone numbers for an individual commissioner as listed on the website.

Thank you,

Lake Testing Information

Posted 6/30/2022

There have been some recent comments/ concerns shared with the Board of Commissioners that inquire about lake water quality conditions. The Board wishes to share the following details with residents about our lake water/beach area testing process.

During the summer months of June, July, and August; the Board samples the water at all four (4) beaches to measure the water quality relative to E. coli bacteria. This sample is performed one (1) time per month. In the event of a bad test (high level), the Board would communicate this finding to the residents through our Web Page and Official Face Book page. Placard / sign posting on any affected beach would also be put up for residents to view. This would temporarily restrict the use of swimming at the beaches until it is deemed safe to enter the water. Follow up tests would then be performed until a good/ acceptable level was achieved and would then allow swimming in the beach areas again. If the tests are good, there is no additional communication other than sharing the results in our monthly District meetings. The June sampling had acceptable levels and the normal July sampling will occur next week.

A recent concern from residents that was received by the Board through our emails/phone calls related to a potential for Cyanobacteria presence at the Meetinghouse beach. Sample bottles were obtained for this particular test and samples were taken on 6/30/22 which are being submitted for testing this same date. Test results take between 7-10 days before results are available. If you have any concerns with water quality, you may want to stay out of the water until results are known. Swimming is always at your own risk. In the future, if residents see something that does not look right relative to water quality, please reach out to the Board using proper communication methods; IE., email: info@elvdnh.com or the District phone numbers as listed on the website. The Board does not monitor or follow the private Face book groups.
